Surfing Apparel
Surfing is an adventure sport which is enjoyed by many due to the new found popularity of the sport. Using the right kind of surf apparel and surfing equipment is necessary to make surfing a more enjoyable experience.
Moreover, every surfer aspires to acquire skills and looks as that of a professional surfer. And since skill acquisition is a difficult and slow task, surfers do want to dress like a professional surfer.
There are different types of surfing apparels available in the market and you should select the best quality apparel. Surfing apparel are available in different shapes, colors and sizes for men, women as well as children. Ensure that you have the entire surfing apparel set required for the activity. Also use apparel that fit you properly, as loose clothing will bring resistance to your movement. Some of the commonly used surfing apparel are given below:
- Board Shorts: The most important piece of surfing clothing you can have. Make sure that you board shorts fit loose enough to be comfortable, but loose enough to fly off if you fall of your boeard.
- Wet suit: Wet suits are available according to climatic seasons. In winter you can use wet suits that are full in length. On the other hand, jackets are useful in summer and spring.
- Wetsuit boots: Wetsuit boots are useful for surfing as they provide excellent grip on the surfboards.
- Wetsuit gloves: Excessive exposure of hands to water will lead to wrinkle like condition of the hands. Hence you should use wetsuit gloves while surfing. These will also help you in getting a grip on the paddle. Wetsuit gloves are essential in winters when the water is very cold. The different types of gloves available in market are paddle gloves, lane gloves, extent gloves, etc.
- Wetsuit hoods: If you want to surf freely in sea water then you should buy wetsuit hoods. These hoods protect your face, hairs, and ears from sea water.
- Rash guards: In summer when the sun is shining harshly and you want to surf then rash guards are really useful. Rash guards will protect your skin from rashes. Ensure that your rash guards fit tightly to your body.
- Flip Flops: As a surfer you'll that walking alot is just a part of the sport whether your in the jungles on the beaches edge in Costa Rica or walking a long distance to beach because there was no parking. Either way you need footwear or flip flops that are comfortable and functional.
Apart from the above surfing apparels, you should use cargo shorts and t-shirts. Take two to three pairs of t-shirts and shorts in your backpack. Sweat shirts are also useful in cold conditions. Women can use shorts for surfing; however, if they want swimsuits can also be used. Ensure that you use sun glasses to protect your eyes from the sun rays. You can also carry other accessories such as watches, sneakers, shoes, jeans and towels during your surfing session.
